XMTVI Asadon is a powdered supplement that requires preparation. The quantity of feed and dilution should be determined by a clinician or dietitian only, and is dependent on the age, body weight and medical condition of the patient.

Preparation Instructions

The recommended dosage and timing of intake is dependent on the age, bodyweight and medical condition of the patient, and should be determined by a dietitian or clinician only. First paste the required amount of product with a little water. Add more water with continuous stirring, in an amount 20 times the quantity of powder used (e.g. 1g powder plus 20ml water). These dilutions are guidelines; the product may be in a more concentrated form, e.g. drink or paste; waster or diluted drinks should offered at the same time. The prepared feed should be refrigerated if not for immediate use and must not be kept longer than 24 hours from the time of preparation. XMTVI Asadon may also be flavoured with a separate flavour from the Nutricia flavour range. Shake or stir immediately before use. Please note flavouring is not recommended for infants less than six months.

Storage & Shelf Life

Storage: Store in a cool dry place. Always replace the container lid after use. Once opened, use within one month. The prepared feed must be refrigerated and must not be kept longer than 24 hours.

Methionine, Threonine & Valine-Free with Low Isoleucine: XMTVI Asadon is specifically formulated to be completely free of methionine, threonine and valine with low isoleucine content, making it suitable for methylmalonic acidaemia or propionic acidaemia (MMA/PA) management.

Balanced Amino Acid Formula: The formula contains a balanced mix of essential and non-essential amino acids to support overall nutrition while avoiding methionine, threonine, and valine, and minimizing isoleucine.

Suitable from Birth: XMTVI Asadon is suitable for use from birth for infants and children with proven methylmalonic acidaemia or propionic acidaemia (MMA/PA).

Must Be Supplemented: This product is not suitable as a sole source of nutrition and must be supplemented with a natural protein source to provide methionine, threonine, isoleucine, valine and other essential nutrients as prescribed by a clinician or dietitian.

Refrigeration Required: Unlike some powdered formulas, prepared XMTVI Asadon feed must be refrigerated if not for immediate use and cannot be kept for longer than 24 hours after preparation.
