An elemental amino acid based powder with banana flavouring designed to provide complete nutritional support for the dietary management of conditions where there is a severe impairment of the GI tract. Suitable for children from 1 year of age through to adulthood. Suitable for use as a sole source of nutrition from 5 years of age.

Indications
For enteral use only. ACBS approved, prescribable on form FP10 (GP10 in Scotland) for the following indications:
- Crohn's disease
- Short bowel syndrome
- Intractable malabsorption
- Bowel fistulae
- Radiation enteritis
- Other conditions where an elemental formula is indicated
Preparation Instructions
Standard Reconstitution Options:
- Standard concentration: 20% w/v (100g powder + 500ml water = 0.89 kcal/ml)
- For osmotically sensitive patients: 13.3% w/v (67g powder + 500ml water = 0.59 kcal/ml)
- More concentrated option: 22.6% w/v (100g powder + 443ml water = 1 kcal/ml)
Step-by-Step Preparation
- Wash hands and use clean equipment to prepare feed.
- Weigh out the prescribed amount of Elemental 028 Extra Powder Banana.
- Add a small amount of the prescribed water and stir with a fork until a smooth paste is obtained.
- Continue stirring whilst adding the rest of the prescribed amount of water.
- Once reconstituted, store in a refrigerator and use within 24 hours.
- Shake or stir immediately before use.
Storage & Shelf Life
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place (5-25°C). Once opened, store in an airtight container and use within two to three days.
