Product Description

Fresubin Original Fibre is a proven and trusted nutritionally complete tube feed providing 1 kcal/ml with fibre (1.5g/100ml). This formula is designed for patients with moderate energy needs who are malnourished or at risk of malnutrition.

The formula meets nutritional targets of people with normal metabolism, providing protein at 0.8g/kg body weight for balanced amino acid provision. It contains a high quality protein blend from milk and soya sources, along with EPA and DHA from fish oil, known for their anti-inflammatory effects and immune function support.

The fibre blend includes inulin (from chicory), cellulose, and wheat dextrin to support digestive health. Fresubin Original Fibre is presented in a convenient 500ml EasyBag and is low in both lactose and gluten. Also available in 1000ml EasyBag.

Usage & Administration

Indications for Use

For the dietary management of patients with or at risk of malnutrition. Suitable as a sole source of nutrition.

Dosage

Must be determined by the healthcare professional according to patients' needs. As a guide:

• Complete nutrition: ≥1.5L (1500 kcal)/day
• Supplementary nutrition: ≥0.5L (500 kcal)/day

Instruction for Use

• Recommended tube size is ≥CH5 for pump assisted feeding
• For gravity feeding the minimum tube size ≥CH8
• Store at room temperature
• Once opened, use within 24 hours
• Shake well before use
• Do not use if bag is damaged or swollen or content is coagulated
• Do not mix with drugs

• Monitor feeding rate
• Suitable as sole source of nutrition
• Not suitable for children <3 years
• Use with caution in children <6 years
• Ensure adequate fluid intake
• Not for parenteral (I.V.) use!

Contraindications

Not suitable whenever enteral nutrition is not permitted such as in:

• Acute gastrointestinal bleeding
• Ileus
• Shock

Use with caution in severe organ failure with impaired metabolism and severe forms of malassimilation. Not suitable for patients with congenital inability to metabolise nutrients contained in Fresubin Original Fibre.
