For the dietary management of Homocystinuria (HCU) from 6 months to 5 years of age. Each 12.5g sachet provides 5g protein equivalent. Prepared as a semi-solid spoonable consistency.

Important Notice
Precautions
Must be used under strict medical supervision. Not suitable for use as a sole source of nutrition. Suitable from 6 months to 5 years of age. Must only be consumed by children with proven Homocystinuria (HCU). Diet must be supplemented with natural protein, water and other nutrients in prescribed quantities to supply methionine, fluid and general nutritional requirements. For enteral use only.
Preparation and Directions for Usage
The recommended intake and administration of HCU explore5 is dependent on the age, body weight and medical condition of the patient, and should be determined by a clinician or dietitian only.
Protein Equivalent
HCU explore5 (12.5g sachet) = 5g Protein Equivalent
For a Semi-Solid Spoonable Consistency
- Add 12.5ml of cold water into a beaker
- Empty the contents of the sachet into the beaker
- Secure the lid and shake well for 10 seconds
- Leave to stand for 2 minutes, allowing a smooth semi-solid consistency to form
- Consume with a spoon
Important Notes
- Water or permitted drinks should be taken after HCU explore5
- The product should be prepared immediately prior to feeding
- Any remaining product must be discarded if not used within 1 hour
Dietary Management
- The daily protein substitute requirement is given as HCU explore5
- Additional protein is provided from exchanges of natural protein, to provide restricted amino acids in controlled amounts, which is essential for growth and development
- Foods high in carbohydrate and fat, but low in protein, should be provided to supply the remainder of the energy

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Sachets are designed for single use. Any unused powder should be tightly sealed and used within 24 hours.
