Swalloweze Clear is an instant food and fluid thickener, Food for Special Medical Purposes for the dietary management of dysphagia.
This clear gum-based thickener is transparent, tasteless and odourless, retaining the natural texture, taste and appearance of fluids whilst offering stable and consistent thickness over time. The formula is designed to provide reliable thickening across all IDDSI levels from Level 1 (Slightly Thick) to Level 4 (Extremely Thick), making it suitable for patients with varying degrees of swallowing difficulties.
Each 1.9g scoop provides minimal calories (5.4 kcal) and adds negligible nutritional content, ensuring that the thickener does not significantly alter the nutritional profile of foods and fluids. The product is free from all major allergens, gluten free, and lactose free, making it suitable for patients with multiple dietary restrictions.
Available in a convenient 165g tub with measuring scoop included. The product requires simple preparation - just add the recommended number of scoops to liquids, shake or stir vigorously, and allow to stand for 3 minutes. Thicker fluids such as juice or fluids containing milk may take up to 10 minutes to reach desired consistency.
Important: Not nutritionally complete. Not suitable for children under 3 years. For enteral use only. Must only be used under medical supervision.

Swalloweze Clear is ACBS and GMS approved for the dietary management of dysphagia.
Dosage
Dosage should be determined by a clinician or speech and language therapist according to individual swallowing assessment and IDDSI level requirements.
IDDSI Level 1 (Slightly Thick): 1 scoop per 200ml liquid
IDDSI Level 2 (Mildly Thick): 2 scoops per 200ml liquid
IDDSI Level 3 (Moderately Thick): 3 scoops per 200ml liquid
IDDSI Level 4 (Extremely Thick): 7 scoops per 200ml liquid
Note: Use levelled scoops for accurate measurement.
Preparation
- Add the recommended scoops of Swalloweze Clear to a shaker, glass or beaker
- Add 200ml of fluid
- Shake or stir vigorously for 20 seconds until powder is completely dissolved
- Allow to stand for 3 minutes. Thicker fluids such as juice or fluids containing milk may take up to 10 minutes to reach desired consistency
Storage Instructions
- Store in a cool dry place
- Once opened, consume within 2 months
- This product is packaged in a protective atmosphere
