Product Description: GA1 Anamix Infant is an amino acid based lysine free, low tryptophan powdered formula containing essential and non-essential amino acids, carbohydrate, fat, fibre, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Food for special medical purposes for the dietary management of proven glutaric aciduria type 1 in infants from birth to 12 months and as a supplementary feed up to 3 years.

Usage Instructions

⚠️ CRITICAL MEDICAL INFORMATION

MUST BE USED UNDER STRICT MEDICAL SUPERVISION
  • For enteral use only
  • For use in infants and as supplementary feed in young children
  • Not suitable as sole source of nutrition
  • Must be given with breast milk or proprietary infant formula to supply lysine, tryptophan, fluid and general nutrition
  • Intended for patients with proven glutaric aciduria type 1

Preparation Instructions

Recommended Feed Concentration: 15% w/v (15g Anamix Infant made up to 100ml with water)

Scoop Information: Each level scoop = 5g powder. Each level scoop requires 30ml water to yield recommended feed concentration.

  1. Wash hands thoroughly and clean the preparation area
  2. Sterilise bottles and teats (if using)
  3. Boil fresh water for 5 minutes and allow to cool for at least 30 minutes until warm to the wrist
  4. Pour required amount of water into sterilised feeding bottle
  5. Fill scoop provided with infant formula and level off with clean dry knife (do not press powder into scoop)
  6. Add prescribed number of scoops to water
  7. Replace cap and shake until powder is dissolved
  8. Before feeding, ensure formula is at correct temperature by placing drops on wrist
  9. Shake or stir formula immediately before use
  10. Formula should not be warmed for longer than 15 minutes prior to feeding
  11. Do not boil formula and do not use microwave oven to prepare or warm formula
  12. Formula remaining in bottle after one hour of feeding should be discarded
  13. Formula must not be rewarmed during feeding

Storage Instructions

  • Store in cool, dry place (5-25°C)
  • Once opened, use within 2 weeks
  • Always replace container lid after use
  • Shelf life: 18 months (unopened)
