Ensure NutriVigor Vanilla is a high-protein powdered nutritional shake from Abbott, specifically formulated to support muscle maintenance and energy levels in adults — particularly those aged 50 and over. The 850g can provides approximately 16 servings when prepared as directed, with each 230ml serving delivering 233 kcal and 8.65g of protein.
The defining feature of Ensure NutriVigor is its inclusion of CaHMB (Calcium β-Hydroxy-β-Methylbutyrate), a metabolite of the amino acid leucine, which has been scientifically studied for its role in supporting muscle tissue. Each serving provides 1.50g of CaHMB alongside high-quality milk and soy protein — a combination that supports muscle mass maintenance when combined with regular physical activity.
The formula also includes Fructo-Oligosaccharides (FOS) to support digestive health, and a comprehensive blend of 27 vitamins and minerals. Notably, each serving provides 5μg of Vitamin D3 — 200% of the NRV across 2 servings per day — which contributes to normal muscle function, immune system support, and maintenance of healthy bones. The B-vitamin complex (B2, B6, B12) contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
Ensure NutriVigor is gluten free, suitable for vegetarians, and approved for both Halal and Kosher diets. It is not suitable for vegans due to its milk protein content. Usage Instructions
Standard Preparation
- Pour approximately 195ml of cold water into a glass or shaker
- Gradually add 6 level scoops (53.5g) of Ensure NutriVigor powder — a scoop is included in the can
- Stir or shake thoroughly until the powder is fully dissolved
- One prepared serving = approximately 230ml
- Consume immediately, or cover, refrigerate and use within 24 hours
- Whisk or shake again before use if refrigerated

Storage
Store unopened cans at room temperature. Once opened, use the plastic lid to keep tightly covered and store in a cool, dry place — do not refrigerate the powder. Use within 3 weeks of opening.
