Super Soluble Maxijul is a carbohydrate powder that can be mixed with water or other beverages to increase caloric content. Mix 4 heaped teaspoons (approximately 20g) with 200ml of water or beverage to create a 76 kcal drink. For thickening purposes, mix with appropriate consistency to achieve desired thickness level (IDDSI levels 0-7).

Product Description

Super Soluble Maxijul is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. It is a carbohydrate thickener and energy supplement derived from glucose syrup solids. For the dietary management of dysphagia (swallowing difficulties) and malnutrition. Can be used to modify the consistency of food and drinks to appropriate IDDSI levels, and to increase caloric intake. ACBS approved and prescribable on FP10 (GP10 in Scotland).

Usage & Preparation - Super Soluble Maxijul 200g Tin

Indications

For enteral use only. For the dietary management of dysphagia (swallowing difficulties) and malnutrition. Can be used to modify the consistency of food and drinks to appropriate IDDSI levels (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative), and to increase caloric intake.

Medical Supervision

Must be used under medical supervision. For enteral use only. Not suitable for use as a sole source of nutrition. Use only as directed by a healthcare professional.

Preparation Instructions

1. For energy supplementation: Mix 4 heaped teaspoons (approximately 20g) with 200ml of water or beverage to create a 76 kcal drink
2. For thickening: Add gradually to food or beverages while stirring to achieve desired consistency
3. IDDSI Levels: Can be used to achieve levels 0-7 depending on amount added
4. Stir well to ensure complete dissolution
5. Use as directed by a healthcare professional or dietitian

Storage

• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
• Keep tin tightly closed after opening
• Use within 4 weeks of opening
• Shelf life: 3 years from date of manufacture when unopened
