Preparing Your Baby's Feed
Important: Because powdered milks are not sterile, failure to follow instructions may make your toddler ill.
- Wash your hands well. Measure 160ml of cooled, freshly boiled water, into a clean beaker.
- Using the scoop provided, add 4 level scoops of powder. Use the leveller that is built into the rim of the tin to make sure the scoop is not heaped.
- Put the lid on the beaker and shake well until the powder has dissolved.
- Test the temperature on the inside of your wrist. If the drink is too warm, cool the beaker under a running cold tap. Test again before feeding.
Feeding Guide
| Serving | Amount of cooled, boiled water (ml) | Number of level scoops of powder |
|---|---|---|
| Approx. 1 beaker | 160 | 4 |
Scoop enclosed: 1 scoop = 5.1g
Important: This information is given as a guide only. We recommend giving your toddler around 350ml of Nannycare Toddler Milk per day as part of a balanced and varied diet. You can divide this into 2 servings per day depending on your child's individual needs. One serving is 175ml. Please note that the volume of each beaker will be 175ml once the powder and water are mixed.
Important Feeding Instructions
- Use only the 5.1g measuring scoop provided.
- Always add one level scoop of powder (5.1g) to each 40ml of cooled, boiled water.
- For hygiene reasons, do not store made up feeds.
- Use feeds within 2 hours at most.
- Always use freshly boiled and cooled water.
- Always discard unfinished feeds.
- Make up each feed as required.
- Do not heat in a microwave as hot spots may occur and cause scalding.
- Do not add extra scoops of powder, or anything else, to your toddler's drink.
- Do not leave your child alone during feeding.
Dental Advice
To help protect your toddler's teeth, avoid dipping dummies in sweet substances. Do not allow your toddler to fall asleep with a bottle containing milk or other sugary drinks. Encourage your toddler to drink from a cup. Continue to brush your toddler's teeth twice daily with a fluoride toothpaste.
